SEO, or search engine optimization, is the art of writing and customizing a site for better performance in SERPs (Search Engine Ranking Pages). Although many people are familiar with the term, few people understand the actual art of SEO. So, in an effort to increase understanding, I’ve decided to create this blog to share with others my experiences and findings in the world of SEO.
The Diversity of Online Marketing
Many people, when they think of SEO, think of only the well known tactics and methods, including on-site and off-site SEO, sticking to the most common strategies. Google, on the other hand, has proven it’s adept skills of sneakiness and has continually, and frequently, changed their algorithms to take in a more diverse set of rules.
You can no longer depend on backlinks and meta tags to ensure your site ranks well. If you expect your site to show up, and rank in the top results, then you need to implement a diverse online marketing strategy. This includes, but is not limited to, content marketing, local SEO, on-site technical SEO, link building, link baiting, PR, social media management, and more.
All of this can be quite time consuming if done with little to no experience, therefore I will be talking about some of these subjects and hope to provide some helpful information which can be used to ease the transition.
